Thanks for all you do - your work on the blog really helps to keep the family connected. I know it is a lot of work but we all appreciate it. Dear Julie,

I dont know why I always forget your Birthday, I am so sorry that I do. Today I went over to Enterprise with Norma Christensen, and Ellen Clark to a Stake Ladie's Luncheon, and I said to Ellen you have a birthday tomorrow, they have these every 2 Months and the different wards host the luncheon. We got home about 2.P.M, and I laid on the couch and had a nap, Steve stopped by and ask if I wanted to go back to Enterprise to watch Jared an Jesse's boy Cash play Baseball, it was a tournament game. We had gone over last Saturday and it rained so hard that they cancled it until this afternoon, he said I will pick you up in 40 Minutes. I came in to the Computer and went to the E-Mails and here I see all these Birthday Wishes to you. I was about ready to E-mail you and Steve drove up, so I went with them. Cash's Team won 13 to 8. But I came home so tired, but I thought I have got to E-Mail and say Happy Birthday.

You got some special notes from your Family, and I want you to know how much I love you, and I still think of the special times that you and Debbie would come and stay with us, and how much your Grandpa Christensen loved having you come and stay, I am sure there were times that you would get homesick as you were quite young.

I want you to know how much I appreciate you taking the time of keeping the Evans Blog going, and you are Special Grandaughter to Me, and you have a Wonderful Husband that loves you too.

Our kids had so much fun visiting Snick and Chuck in North Carolina and staying with them for 6 days and 5 nights. They have been close to them ever since. The boys were excited to hear they were moving back to Las Vegas and couldn't wait to see them. Rylan was allowed to pick one friend to come to his birthday dinner and he picked Snick and Chuck. We let them both come! The boys have called up Snick and Chuck several times to come have a "cowboy sleep" and they have been great sports about it! We've had a good time eating popcorn and watching kid movies. Then sneaking off to more comfortable beds once they are asleep! Being our closest relatives geographically, we have called on Snick and Chuck several times to watch the boys at the last minute and they have been more than willing to come over and help out. Especially now that Jared is potty trained. We all know how Snick feels about poopy diapers !!! We love having Snick nearby! Snick has been great to keep us updated on everything that is going on through the blog. I hope she knows how much we all appreciate the work she does on here. Thanks Snick!

When I think about Julie as we were growing up, I think of this bundle of energy bouncing off of everything. I still remember her on the channel 10 show Tip Top Ten. She was enthusiastically doing jumping jacks and bounced right off the stage. Good times. Julie and I loved going to Grandpa and Grandma Christensen's house for a couple of weeks every summer. We had a lot of fun times there. Julie has a great sense of humor and is fun to hang out with. She is very talented even though she doesn't always recognize it. She does a great job in her Relief Society calling. Julie enjoys giving service to others, and helps a lot of people in her ward. When Randy and I were moving she stepped right in and helped a lot. I am very grateful for all the help she gave us. Our kids love their Aunt Snick. They love to joke around with her and have one on one time with her too. We hope you have a Happy Birthday, Juls.

Snick is a totally fun aunt! I have had so many fun memories with her. Getting to visit her in North Carolina was one of the funnest trips ever. She definitely kept me busy on that trip. I remember when I had a sleep over with her when I was younger and she let us eat cookie dough ice cream for breakfast!! Ya....shes that cool! ha ha. I love spending time with her. She has so many different talents and skills and always has something weird to say or do ;) ha ha I'm just messin' cuz I always tease her about being weird (its OK tho because it runs in the family) Thanks for being such a great aunt and friend.

Snick is super fun and silly just like me. I remember when we shared a room long ago and we'd lay in the dark and just talk, be silly and scratch each other's backs. We still have as much fun now when we have a sleepover. Last year in December when she came to visit, Milo was gone away at school so we slept in the same bed and were silly (and crude) and laughed 'til we cried. Snick is very organized, neat, creative, and not afraid to try new things. We look so much alike that dad always called us twins. So, one year we surprised him with a professional portrait with just the two of us dressed alike. Happy Birthday Snick! I love you very much and miss you lots!!!

Snick is fun to be around and I enjoy spending time with her. She is such a fun aunt to my kids. She was so sweet to watch Grant for me many times when I was pregnant with Lewis and even changed a poopy diaper!! Snick is very beautiful and also has many talents. She is a great photographer, a good cook and very crafty. I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful sister!

Happy Birthday Grant!

BIG BOY! Grant is 2 years old

I can't believe Grant is already 2! He is getting so big and already has such a fun personality! It's so fun to tickle him or chase him around, just to hear him giggle. He can also be pretty crazy and really loud! I told Shane he's loud because we gave him the middle name of Lane. Grant loves being outdoors, he could spend all day out there! He really enjoyed our camping trip to Tropic this year.Grant loves to play with cars and trains. He also has to watch his "Cars" movie at least once a day. It's good because between the toys and movie he can keep himself busy for a few hours.
Grant likes to be a big brother. He is a good helper and will bring me a diaper, blankie or pacifier (usually when I don't need them). He likes to give Lewis a lot of kisses and is only mean once in a while. Luckily, he finally started going into nursery really good right before I had Lewis!
He must be going through a growth spurt right now, because he is always in the pantry getting into the cereal or crackers! He also has a major sweet tooth and is always trying to get someone to grab him a piece of my scout candy. The funniest thing is when Shane is making his daily shake, Grant comes running in to get a cup as soon as he hears the blender going.

Grant doesn't know many words yet, so I'm hoping he'll catch on to the "talking" thing real soon. It can get frustrating trying to communicate with him. I'm hoping that the only reason he doesn't talk much is just because he has nothing to say.

We love our cute little boy and we are grateful that he is part of our family!

Congratulations to Melissa & Wayne Evans. Meg Katherine Evans was born Friday, June 4, 2010 at 12:55 pm at Summerlin Hospital, Las Vegas, NV. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 0z. and was 20 inches long. Meg's middle name "Katherine" is after Grandma Christensen.

Happy Birthday Kaden!

Kaden celebrated his 11th birthday on June 4th by camping at Tropic Reservoir in Utah with the rest of the Evans Clan. He now shares a birthday with his newest cousin, Meg. Kaden is a handsome young man and I love to give him HUGS! He has a good sense of humor and is so much fun to be around. Hope you had a fun birthday, buddy!

Letter from Elder Carlson

Dear Family,

Well I have really enjoyed these past few months serving here in the Texas Houston Mission. This is definitely where the Lord wants me and where I have been able to grow the most. There are many diverse places here in Texas and I’d say I’ve served in some exciting areas. This mission has been without a doubt where I’ve needed to be at this time in my life.

I was formerly in the Katy area which is a great, well-off town in the outskirts of Houston. My time there seemed short because I enjoyed it so much. There were so many great members and people that I got to know and I miss it dearly. I learned so many lessons and had a blast being on a bike full time there. There were 5 wonderful people that were baptized while I was there and I feel blessed that I could be with them as they made changes in their lives and came unto Christ.

I was moved to where I am currently at now a month ago and have certainly found good experiences here. It is in the northern side of Houston’s downtown area, covering some fairly sketchy places. We are blessed with safety as missionaries luckily though. J In this Melbourne ward there are so many great people, humble seekers of Christ. There are so many fun exciting stories that I could probably fill a novel, sadly I haven’t been keeping up in my journal as well as I should have or writing letters. I apologize. I have learned and grown so much and I can promise that I’m more grown up than the way you knew me. I still know how to have fun though, like with trying to wrestle an alligator in Katy. I just turned 20 and time is going by fast, life is so great and I love it. Thank you all for your love and constant encouragement.

So many great stories and opportunities come from being a full-time missionary for this church, the Lord’s church. I recommend all who feel inspired to go on a mission to take that leap of faith and just do it. I have been blessed, my family has been blessed and I have seen the blessing of other’s lives as I have been able to share my testimony. I share my testimony with you now, that I know that God is our Eternal Father and he loves and cares for each of us as individuals. I know that his Son, Jesus Christ, was foreordained and came here to Earth to atone for the wrong choices that we each make in our lives. I know that there is a Plan of Happiness and that if we but follow it and the teachings given to us we can attain eternal life. I have received my personal witness from the Holy Ghost that the true church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was restored through a prophet named Joseph Smith. I know that it is true and I know that we can all know as we read from the Book of Mormon and pray to our Heavenly Father to give or increase that testimony. I love and care for you. I love and care for these gospel truths and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
