Congratulations Melissa & Wayne!

Charlie Gibson Evans & Bryce Reber Evans
were born Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9:14 am via C-section.
Charlie weighed 3 lbs 2 oz and Bryce 3 lbs 13 oz.
The twins were born 10 weeks early and their lungs were not
quite developed, so they needed help breathing.
Look at that sweet little face!
Charlie & Bryce will most likely be in the NICU at
Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas for a couple of months.

May 31, 2013: The boys were stable enough that they moved them together in their own little section.  They are both eating momma's milk through a feeding tube.  They are both in the tanning beds for a little bit of jaundice.  Melissa has been able to get her hands on them changing diapers and stuff.  Our nurse said they were some of the most stable babies in the NICU.  Seems to be going well.  ~Wayne

Bryce got his blanket from home on his bed today.
June 2, 2013: Charlie needs another day under the light for his jaundice.  They both had to get IV's this morning to give them some sodium bicarb and saline because their ph was off.  Bryce's feedings keep going up because he is tolerating them well.  Charlie is tolerating well but has to wait a couple more days to increase at all since his birth weight was lower.  Overall everything is still good.  Melissa went home from the hospital today!

Baby Shower

Baby Shower for Melissa

Saturday, April 24th

Open House style 2:30 - 4:00 pm

At Melissa's House

Hey everyone! Just letting you know about the baby shower being planned for Melissa. She originally told me she absolutely didn't want a shower but her friend Christina talked her into it. Invitations should be coming in the mail, but I wanted you to know the details as soon as possible. I also told Christina that we would be willing to help, so let me know what you would like to do. She asked for:

Chips & Salsa

Veggies & Dip

Desserts

Also, if any of you have decorations for a girl baby shower, let Christina know. Please come early (1:30ish) if you are able to help decorate and set up.

FYI: The baby's room will be decorated in a classic Pooh theme.

Questions??? Contact Christina at 839-9425 or christinagirl56@hotmail.com

3D ultrasounds

I had these 3D ultrasounds taken at Dr. Wold's office on the 7th. They some-what resemble a baby, but I figure (and hope) that 3D ultrasounds aren't perfect! It is still very interesting to see what's going on in there!

Exciting News!!!

This is a picture of Shane and Vicki's "peanut" that is due on April 7th, 2010! At first glance, it looks like there are two babies in there, but there is only one. The baby is on the left and the yolk sac is on the right (that's where the baby gets it's nutrients until the placenta is fully functioning, at about 10 weeks). This was taken on August 20, at 7 weeks & 1 day gestation.

Lyla's Baby Blessing

Sweet little Lyla Rose will be blessed on Sunday, August 30th at 11:00 AM, Moapa Chapel. The chapel is small and fills up quickly so plan on being there 15-20 minutes early to get a seat.

Because of the large size of both families, Lance and Natalie have requested that only their dads and immediate brothers be involved in the actual blessing and they hope everyone else understands.

A luncheon will follow afterward at Vicki & Shane's house. We will be having BBQ pork sandwiches and a variety of salads and desserts provided by both families.

New Castle News

I e-mailed Grandma earlier in the week asking if there was any exciting news to share. I got the following information from Grandma & Aunt Linda yesterday:

Cheri and Justin had their little boy last night by C-Section. Deb left yesterday morning at 8:30 A.M. and got there (Sacramento, CA) at 6:30 P.M. Cheri had contractions throughout the night Thursday and was at the hospital when Deb got there. Deb went straight to their home where Avery was being tended by a neighbor. Brighton (I don't know if this is the way it is spelled) was in distress so they took him by C-section.

Jim, Ryan, Crea and Jessica spent time with the YW/YM Trek. Bishop Shill is co owner with the RCA which works with troubled youth. They packed 4 handcarts out at his base camp and they were traveling 4 miles/day. Activities included a raid party by a mob (they confiscated all the goodies), a mail delivery by the Pony Express, a delivery of buffalo jerky by a couple who raise buffalo. The men and boys were called to go on with the Mormon Battalion leaving the YW to push and pull a steep mountain. (Angels came to their assistance as was needed). The trek was ending today with a nice dinner, square dancing and a testimony meeting. Right now though it has been raining here and the mountains where they are are very black. I know some adults that will be glad not to sleep on the ground tonight!

By the way, we need your dad to make a trip up and sit in the cemetery shooting the D........chislers. He would need to stay for sometime though. Perhaps we could round up a revolving recliner for him.

Way to Go on the Harley Ride! You have a lot more nerve than Grandma or I. Grandma said, "You could ride her old bike while Chuck rides his Harley!”

I just spoke with Grandma on the phone a while ago. She mentioned that Steve, Deb, Kyle & Crea have been working on putting up a big new barn that she calls the "Million Dollar Barn".

Grandma also figured out that with the birth of Cheri's new baby she now has 64 great-grandchildren! With Natalie and Melanie both expecting this summer, it will soon be 66. That's quite a posterity! Thanks for the update, Grandma... we love you!
