Well. good start of to new transfer! 

Started it off by finding a few eligidos! One of them that really stood out to me was a man named Alejandro, who is 68 years old. We found him in the street. Awesome man. We had another appointment with him and taught the restoration. We found out that his wife died about 9 years ago and he was heart broken. We bore our testimonies about eternal families, and he told us "im willing to do anything to be with my wife again." The spirit wa there and there were a lot of tears. He has a baptismal date for the 8th of may. Families are eternal.

I love my family. I love you all. Stay awesome.

Transfers

Dearest people who dont use transfers to keep track of time,

Its been a long transfer. Eight weeks. Yeah, it feels good being able to start a new one. But! Transfer News! Im not being transfered! Whoop whoop! Ill be starting now my third transfer here in Parque Patricios. And Im so excited to be here another transfer! I really do love this ward :) Also itll be my first area with more than two transfers so thats awesome as well. Im still here with Elder Nordine. Elder Nordine has also been called to be one of the district leaders here in la zona chacabuco. So he´ll probably end up dying here in 3 more transfers. We´ll see :)

BUT! We finished off the eight week transfer with a baptism! A miracle baptism la verdad. Nico was baptized and confirmed this last week, and his dad was able to do the ordinance. Definitely one of the fastest baptisms ive had in my mission. Took a whole 9 days haha :) We now have Diego on date and we will be putting another man on date tonight.

What more can I say? Be smart. Simple. But, we will have times when we are not so smart, which brings us to another simple subject. The atonement of Jesus Christ. The atonement is one of the simplest topics of the Gospel, but one of the least understood. Study the atonement. It will change your perspective on everything. It has definitely changed mine. Love you all. :)

Dearest people who

Great week this last week! First of all, Mariano was confirmed a member of the church yesterday. Love that guy to death. He has an interview with the Bishop tomorrow and will most likely be getting the priesthood this sunday! Whoop Whoop! But sadly, he might be moving to another part of Buenos Aires this next week so he can be closer to the 2 universities hes studying at. Yeah. 2 universities. But its okay. Cause Ill most likely see him after my misison cause he wants to go to byu to study now haha! 

We also had another miracle this week. The bishop gave us a reference of a less active family in our ward. So, we went and visited them. Reactivated them. And.... they have a son that isnt baptized yet! So, we will be teaching him this week and will be baptized on Saturday! Miracle! God is blessing us so much. In the times where I felt like we wouldnt have any success, he has blessed me and these people immensly. Seeing these people progress in the Gospel of Jesus Christ keeps me moving forward. I love these people. And I love you all. :)

Dearest people who heard conference in english,

How goes it?! Hope you all had an amazing conference weekend! We definitely did here, because yeah, conference. But also because MARIANO WAS BAPTIZED! He was baptized yesterday in between sessions along with a few other people from the zone. It was an amazing experience. Love that man. 

Other than that the week was kinda.. ehh.. My companion ended up getting sick, and we had to stay in our apartment for two days. A lot of organizing was done, scriptures were read, and the church movie Legacy was watched many times. 

One of the main topics that I noticed during this last conference was the importance of ordinances. Elder Kent F Richards talk stood out to me, "Come to the temple. Come often. Come with and for your family. Come, and help others to come too. … Each temple is His holy, sacred house and … therein each of us may learn and know the powers of godliness."

Take advantage of the blessings that we have close by. Attend the temple. And prepare yourselves to have eternal families. I love you all, I love my Savior.

Dearest people that can eat meat during the week of easter,

Yeah I just found out that Catholics dont eat meat, only fish, during easter. You can see just how much knowledge of other religions I had before the mission. 

Weeeeelllllllllllll... This week was quite grand if I should say. We went out and worked, just like every other day. Found a few people. Aaaaaaaannnnnddddd moved the baptism of Mariano till next week. We talked with the bishop and he suggested that he be baptized inbetween conferences this next sunday so that he doesnt have to wait two weeks to be confirmed, cause you know, Satan and such. But Its okay! Mariano is still has his mind decided about being baptized and is really excited to see general conference on Sunday!

Hablando sobre tal.. I invite you all to spiritually prepare yourselves for general conference this next week. Think of questions that you need answers to. What do you need help with? How can you do it? I promise you all that as you ponder and pray about these things, God will answer you through the words of the prophets.

Howdy!

Well this email will be short and sweet. 

Wilson and Jessie were married and baptized this week! It was an awesome day. We had 7 baptisms from 3 pairs of missionaries. And also mariano will be baptized this week. Overall we had 8 confirmations on sunday.

Also we had our last interviews with president ayre. He will be leaving in June. Awesome president and ill miss him.

Dearest people that dont know the beauty of Argentine Coca Cola..

How goes it? Good? Okay good. 

Well! This week has been a spectacular one. And this next one will be even greater because first of all, WILSON AND JESSIE GET MARRIED TOMORROW! YES! We have been working with this family for 3 months now and after 3 marriage turns, help from the ward, tears, stress, and prayer for this family, they are finally going to be married and baptized! Whoop whoop! My former companion Elder Kelly from "fabulous" Las vegas nevada will be coming for the ceremony. We also have Diego, who is a 19 year old kid that we found a while back that wants to turn his life around. We are helping him with his repentance process and will be baptized this saturday as well :) Then we also have our golden investigator Mariano that will be baptized the following week :) God has placed so many people in our path, and in the path of the other missionaries of parque patricios. This saturday the ward will be having 7 baptisms. SEVEN. And the next week 2 more! God blesses his children, and im incredibly happy to be able to know and help these people come unto Christ.

Dearest people that live where soccer is basically nonexistent,

How goes it? Hope all is well :) 

Well.. this week has been pretty interesting. Stressful, but interesting and full of blessings :) 

First of all, we had a miracle happen this week! We were walking down the street and a man stopped us. He said "are you the people that talk about God?". And I said "yup". And then he invited us over to his house, talked to him about the restoration, and invited him to be baptized. he will be baptized the 27th :) It was super random but DEFINITELY one of the biggest miracles ive seen here on my mission. So hopefully all goes well :)

We are also preparing 3 others towards baptism. 2 of them will be getting married next week :) 

Things are going good down here in Buenos Aires. Loving every minute. :) Thank you for all that you do. Know that I love you and youre in my prayers. Stay awesome

Dearest people that I love (sorry Sister Udall),

First of all. Y´all are awesome.

Second of all. We got a visit from an apostle this week! Elder Bednar travelled down here and talked with all four of the Buenos Aires missions. You know what that also means? I also got to see Elder Eric Winzenried from the Buenos Aires West mission! It was awesome being able to see him. I hugged that man hard. Like. Hard. But anyway Elder Bednar talked about a lot of things, but the main thing that he talked about was faith. And it was INCREDIBLE. I felt the spirit incredibly strong. He talked about how of course faith leads to action, but how many of us actually go into action? In all our church meetings, we definitely talk about the things that we need to do, and we thing that we are doing our job, but are we actually acting on it? He talked about a lot of things, but the main thing was, stop talking about doing it and just DO IT. So, show your faith and put on your nike gear and just do it! 

But other than seeing an apostle of God, this week was pretty good. My new companion and I are getting along good and we found a few people. This transfer will be 8 weeks so we will have a little more time to find this transfer as well.

Dearest people from the best freaking country in the freaking world,

Wow. What a week. First of all, we had a baptism this week! A little girl from a less active family. Turns out the missionaries have been working with her and her family to get her baptized for the last year and a half and after all of that time she FINALLY GOT BAPTIZED. It was a miracle and probably one of the most stressful baptisms ive had on the mission. All for a little girl. If you knew the family youd all understand haha :) 

Also at church we had another miracle! At the end of sacrament meeting, I was talking with some members, then randomly this lady comes up to me and says "My daughter wants to get baptized, can you baptize her this weekend?" Uhhhh... YEAH!!! They are from a different ward and I dont know theyre story completely, cause yeah, I met them yesterday, but all I know is that we will be having a baptism this weekend. 

God really is a god of miracles. Ive seen so many in my now 8 months in the mission. He loves us all :)

PS. I got an email from my last companion Elder Fernandez. Turns out Sussana´s daughter (converts from Derqui), and her boyfriend got baptized last week! When we were teaching them they told us that they were "juntados", or living together, so we couldnt baptized them. But turns out that the boyfriend lives down the street, and they didnt tell us that after 3 months of teaching and visiting them! so they were both worthy to be baptized! Im so happy! So their entire family of 6 was converted to the gospel! Such great news this week :)

Well. This was definitely an interesting week that we had. It was one of the best/stressful weeks of my mission haha. First of all, we found 5 new investigators that now have baptismal dates for the 20th. So right now we have about 8 people that can be baptized here in the next 2 or 3 weeks. So thats great right?! But.. only 2 of the 8 went to church, so we have to delay their baptisms another week. But its okay, we are just going to be going hard on church attendance this week :) 

Other news. We were walking down the street the other day when all of a sudden we got sprayed with some sort of liquid from 2 stories above. I thought it was just water but then it started smelling funny.. yeah.. someone puked on us from the second story balcony. So yeah that was fun. 

Also, my spanish has been doing pretty solid, so, Im starting to study Portuguese now :D

Dearest people where skyscrapers are not made of brick,

Que tal amigos?! Everything is well here in Buenos Aires. Yeah not gonna lie this week was pretty normal. We accomplished our goals, and found a few more people that are progressing towards baptism. 

Other than that, since my companion is a district leader, we had the oppurtunity to do a few splits this week. And I ended up going to one of the best/dangerous areas in the mission. It was one of the coolest/strangest/ghetto places Ive ever seen. We arent allowed to take our cameras or nothing more than 2 pesos in there so I couldnt take any pictures, but look up on google "la villa 1-11-14". Youll understand why we arent allowed to take anything in there. Im hoping to have an area like that sometime in my mission. :) 

This week Ive been thinking a lot about charity and love with the people around us. As a missionary, if you dont love the people, youre not going to help or convert absolutely anyone, and it can definitely apply in our normal daily lives as well. In 1 Corinthians 13, it talks about the importance of charity. With everything that we do, if we dont have charity, it doesnt work to our benefit. Even with hope and faith, if we dont have charity, it is worth nothing. I invite you all to read in 1 Corinthians 13, and to find a way to be a little more charitable, and if you do our Heavenly Father will bless you immensly. :) Love you all.

Dearest people that dont love Messi more than their own family,

Que tal?! Todo bien? Everything is great here in Parque Patricios 2. I gotta say that we had a pretty eventful week this week. 

First of all. A couple that we are teaching, that are planning on getting married and baptized this week, almost got seperated. They were doing fine and progressing. Reading the book of mormon and praying. Then all of a sudden Satan happened. They started fighting over the littlest things, and almost got seperated. We tried helping them find the love in their relationship again. But they just couldnt find it. Luckily the Bishop and another married couple went over to visit them and everything is good now with them :)

Second of all.. We saw someone get stabbed. O_O Everyone was screaming and cursing, And the guy ran away with blood all over his shirt and hands. Yeah we ran really fast. 

Third. Im like 80% sure that one of our investigators showed up drunk to the chapel. I was actually really surprised when I saw him there. And when he saw us he was like "HEEEEYYYYY! MIS HERMANOS!!!" Yeah he was saying cualquier cosa. I definitely havent had an experience like that in my mission. Elder Kelly and I were laughing really hard.

So yeah that was our week here in Perusalem. Stay awesome.

Dearest people that live where AC exists,

First week in Parque patricios! Oh my goodness Im already in love in this area. The members here are great. The food is the best Ive tasted on my mission (my companion gained 10 lbs last transfer here so we´ll see how this goes).  And we have 5 people being prepared for baptism for the 30th, and then two more the next week. We even have one investigator thats going to EFY this week. She might as well just jump into the font now. 

My area is in downtown capital. If you look up Buenos Aires on the internet, with all the statues and theatres and towers and stuff like that, yeah I live like 10 blocks from there. Its incredible and so beautiful. But our area has the nickname Perusalem. Its basically just an old abandoned factory, and a whole bunch of peruvians just started living in it. Its like 1 square block. And weve worked there every single day this past week. Thats it. Thats how many people live in this one block. I dont even know the other parts of my area yet. But we are having a lot of success there and Im incredibly happy to be here and know these people and eat arroz chaufa every single day. Love you all!

Well this is going to be really short, but, I got transfered. Again. As of now I've been in my areas for only 3 months. I'm already in my third area. But I'm still pumped to be here! My areas before were all in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, but now I'm in downtown Buenos Aires! Its called Parque Patricios. I'm so pumped to be here. Its a great area. My new companion is Elder Kelly from LAS VEGAS NEVADA. Turns out he has a lot of family in Moapa Valley, and is related to Dudley Leavitt, so yeah we are basically cousins. Its sad leaving all of the members and converts in Derqui, but I know there are people waiting for me here. Love you all so much :)

Año Nuevo

Dearest people that know the importance of changing socks every day,

Feliz Año Nuevo! Hopefully you all could enjoy the new year. I spent mine by getting early to our house with a street full of drunks. So thats cool. But as well we were able to see all the fireworks at night because yeah.. its hard to sleep when it sounds like there´s a war outside. And let me tell you, Argentines love their fireworks haha. 

This week was pretty good. We were able to accomplish our goals and a little more. We had to move the baptism of Matias to next sunday because its a little hard for him to understand, but he's still excited for his baptism :)

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

During this time of the year people are all making goals. Some are serious about their goals, others.. mas o menos. But, if we are serious about our goals, we can receive the divine help of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to be able to accomplish these goals. When you make your goal, talk about it with your Heavenly Father. He will listen, and may even help you adjust your goal a little. But, tell Him your plan, and He will provide a way for us to accomplish our goals, if we are diligent and keeping the commandments. So, talk with your Heavenly Father about your goals, and I promise He will provide a way.

Feliz Navidad!

What an amazing week to be a missionary. Christmas was incredible. It was definitely a little different (mostly because I was sweating all day), but it was one of the best Christmas´s Ive ever had. 

We were able to get together as a mission and have an activity. We heard the mission choir, ate a ful, and did a lot of fun stuff :) And as all of you know, got to talk with the family on Christmas. :)

But most importantly, EMMANUEL GOT BAPTIZED. Hes basically the smallest 11 year old Ive ever seen. Hes the son of a recent convert and was so excited to learn! I had the oppurtunity to do the baptism as well and it was a great experience.

Hope you all had a Christ centered Christmas. And now, make some realistic goals for the new year and actually DO IT. I love you all, and I hope you all had an amazing week! Happy new year!

Alegrate mucho! Es la navidad!

Merry Christmas everyone from Argentina :) Hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying the cold.

This is going to be a little short because we only have a little bit to write, our pday is on christmas this week. But a quick summary. Things are progressing here! The son of our recent convert is set for baptism this coming sunday, and the cousin of another for the next week. Baptisms are probably the best christmas present a missionary can recieve.. ;) 

Christmas is definitely different here. First of all, there are no lights because they would be robbed in like 5 minutes and they cost like 200 pesos for every strand. Second, everyone is sweating. Its a little different, but let me tell you, Ive never felt more close to my Savior during Christmas in my life. Im so happy to be able to spend Christmas here with the people of Argentina. The lights, the heat, dont matter, as long as we have the Savior in mind, its a great christmas. :)

6 Months

Dearest people that don't eat Halls cough drops as candy,

Well freak. I don't know how it happened, but, I hit 6 months in about 3 days. Fastest 6 months of my life. And to answer your question if Im going to burn a tie for my 6 months, the people here in Argentina have the habit of burning all of their trash on the side of the road, and I don't think they'll have a problem with me throwing in a tie, so.. yes.

All is well here in Derqui. We have the son of Susana, our recent convert, set for baptism on the 27th, and a few other possibilities. 

Yesterday was a very special day. Elder Fernandez and I had the opportunity to go to a Christmas devotional in Escobar, and it was a choir of missionaries serving here in Buenos Aires North. I closed my eyes and was just able to think and listen to the music (no i didn't fall asleep). And I was able to think about the importance of our Savior. I felt the spirit incredibly strong and I thought, sometimes we just need to do just that, just take a few moments, close our eyes, and just think about His role in our life. Especially during this time of the year. If we take a few minutes out of the day to think of Him, we will feel the true spirit of christmas, and why we celebrate.
