I had these 3D ultrasounds taken at Dr. Wold's office on the 7th. They some-what resemble a baby, but I figure (and hope) that 3D ultrasounds aren't perfect! It is still very interesting to see what's going on in there!

Missionary Moments

The following message was emailed to Snick by Elder Carlson

Texas is treating me well. I have been recently transferred to Katy which is a suburb of Houston and it is pretty rich. Thus, the missionary work is slightly harder due to the pride of the peoples hearts. lol But we are getting along well, and we have recently started a 40-day fast in our ward to help further the work along by asking for blessings of missionary work and opportunities in this area for the missionaries and the members. I got a tie from you, from my brother and from my parents. And then 2 from a recently returned missionary in that area I was serving in. I have 18 ties now. Small compared to some missionaries collections of 300. haha Missionaries don't have too many needs, luckily I have been able to ride out my shortage of money with gift cards I received for christmas.

Randy received this cool message today from a member in Katy, TX

Greetings Randy,

I meet your son last night Elder Carlson & his companion Elder Anderson. I took them on visits to investigators & inactive members. Nice young man. After our visits I took them to a members house for a supper appointment. Your son is a very good missionary and handles himself well with whomever he comes in contact with. He and Elder Anderson seem to get along real good. As you can tell I am also a realtor. He noticed the signage on my vechicle and mentioned that you are also a realtor. Business is tough down here. Last year 09' was the worst year I have had in this business. I think my grand daughter's aunt lives in Vegas. If she does I will check and see if she is looking for a house and make a referral. The Elders have an invite on the 30th at my house and a teaching appointment. My son in law has commited to hearing the first 3-4 lessons. Hope he accepts the gospel. Keep in touch.

Happy Birthday Randy!

Randy has lived in Las Vegas his entire life (48 years). He was born in Henderson at the St. Rose hospital there. He was the only baby in the hospital, so his mom said they got excellent care. Randy was an unexpected RH factor baby so he gave them quite a scare. But they were able to get him stabilized and healthy.

When Randy was a baby his mom was sitting under one of those old fashioned hair dryers and she heard a voice say "Go check Randy." She said it was a very distinct voice. She threw off the cap to the hair dryer and ran into where he was sleeping He had turned comp

letely blue and of course wasn't breathing. She had never learned CPR but the spirit guided her on what to do and she revived him. They didn't know about SIDS back then, but she said that probably what it was.

When Randy was about 18 months old, his mom was doing some canning at the stove. He was crawling around by her feet. Somehow the giant pot of boiling water was tipped and started to fall. Randy's mom threw herself over his little body. She had 3rd degree burns all over her body. She was taken to the hospital and ended up being there for about 2 months. But again she saved Randy from death.

Randy is a very sensitive guy. He loves little children and babies and has always been and excellent dad. He always wanted to feed our kids their baby food so he could take a part in caring for them. When Kyle was 6 months old I had to wean him because I was 2 months pregnant with Carissa. Kyle wanted nothing to do with the bottle and screamed for about 36 hours before he finally gave in and took a bottle. Randy patiently took care of him and held him the entire time!

Randy loves our three kids profoundly and I think it's been e

ven harder on him than me, this year having two of them leave the nest. I am so appreciative of him for allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom and also for making sacrifices to take care of our family. Randy is very social and has great people skills. He is always game for any plans I make for us to spend time with friends or family.

Most importantly, Randy has a solid testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for a husband who serves to his utmost ability and leads his family by example. I'm blessed to have such a loving husband. Happy Birthday Randode!

My dad is the best! He used to have a shirt that said World's Greatest Dad and it is so true (sorry to break it to everyone else who thinks their dad is the best). I remember when he used to make us pancakes every Saturday morning. My mom didn't really like that tradition because it was like eating cake for breakfast but it was definitely a favorite with us kids! He is very loving and enjoys making sure we have a good time. I love him so much and all the memories that we share.

We used to have game night every Sunday after church and we would play Monopoly and Scattergories and just about any other game we could think of. My mom used to always joke about how she has 4 kids and it is so true. He plays with us all the time. In my child development class we learned about the important roles of fathers and how their interaction with their kids develops social competence. We learned that kids who have fathers who play with them tend to: be better emotional regulators and readers, manage frustration better, be willing to explore new things and activities, and persist longer in problem solving. I am so grateful to my dad for all that he has done for me. I know he loves us very much and I hope he has a great birthday!!

My dad has always been there for me, from the times when I needed a school project done, to camping and pinewood derby cars. He has helped me out with everything that I ask for help with. Even when he is busy he always finds a way to fit me and my needs in. He is the best dad that I can possibly imagine and I love him!!! Happy Happy Dad!

Randy is a very caring and kind person and fun to joke around with. He is a good father and has always been good to Debbie. He has always been easy to get along with and loves hangin' out with the family at family parties (even if it's lying on the floor or couch sleeping) He is definitely a go-getter and pays attention to detail (remember that pumpkin he took hours to carve at Wayne & Melissa's Halloween Baby shower?) He is always willing to help others and is a great example of using clean language! Happy Birthday Randy. We love and miss you!

I love my dad so much, and am grateful for the opportunity I had to have a father that cared for me beyond his own cares. I remember when he would come home from work and would finally lay down on the floor and start eating his dinner that mom would warm up for him.

And as we were all there watching Home Improvment or something and little Cammy would make his way over to dad and lay next to him. Then the eventual question: Dad, can I have some? haha Cam would have eaten a full meal already and watching dad just munch down on his dinner he had been waiting for often made me a little upset at my younger brother for taking something from my dad. But I know that my dad always was willing to impart of anything he had to others. He is the best father I could have on this earth and I am thankful for my Heavenly Father choosing to send me here at this time. I love all of my family. Hopefully I continue to bring others closer unto Christ that they may have the knowledge of Eternal Families as we do.

Happy Birthday Abbie!

Abbie is turning 8 years old and is so excited to get baptized!!! She thinks it is so cool that she will be the first one in her primary class to be baptized! She is so excited that she gets to finally go to Activity Days too!

Abbie is so much fun to be around! There is never a dull moment with her! Sometimes Brad and I look at each other and shake our heads and laugh because she is so funny! You never know what she is going to come up with next. She has some pretty awesome dance moves already. Every time she starts in with her wacky dances it totally reminds me of Suzy's PJ dance! Sometimes some of her moves scare us a little and hope that she doesn't dance like that when she's 16!!! Ha Ha This picture of her is totally her personality. Noob captured her sassy little spirit perfectly!!

She has now outgrown Kessa by 1/2" & they wear the same clothes and shoes. So far Kessa is ok with that! Abbie also thinks that she gets to do everything that Kessa does & is more than a little put out when she can't. We have to remind her that she is two years younger!

Abbie loves school. She loves her teacher (they have the same personality) so it is a perfect match for her this year. She excels in math & reading & friends!! She has lots of cute little friends. She also loves to play sports. This was her first year to play soccer and she did fantastic!!! She was on Anita Lyon's team and she scored most of their goals. At the last game of the season, she said it was the end of the world for her because soccer was over!! She also played volleyball this year and loved it too!! Now she is gearing up for softball. She is getting really good at snowboarding, too. She got a snowboard for Christmas this year and last week when we went to Brianhead, she beat the rest of us down the hill most of the time! She has also been taking piano lessons from Grandma and is getting better and better each day.

Abbie is such a fun little dolly and we love her so much! Life definately would not be the same without her!!! Have a Happy Birthday, Baby! We love you!!!

Happy Birthday Kevin from Cynth & Kids

Kevin is my sweetheart now for 16 years, I can't believe where the time goes. He is a great Dad and husband. He loves to take us to the mountains and on trips. We love going, too! Kevin is very funny and is always quoting movies. I love hearing his stories from work and hunting trips.

Kevin is a better wife than I am. He always cleans (my friends are all jealous) I am grateful! He often fixes dinner, he likes to cook and try new things. The kids like it best when dad cooks. He is a fabulous cook, Beverly taught him well. Everybody counts on him making Toffee at Christmas time, Brad Harris even requests that for his gift.

Kevin is a very generous person, he is always helping people in our ward and both families. He gives freely of his time and money and is a very Christlike person. He is a great example to our kids. All the Young Men look up to him.

He loves his little Halle and always wants her to snuggle with him, he is so cute with her. I love to hear him talk to her. He loves to watch all the kids play their sports and is very proud of Tylee in her soccer & Kaden and Kobe in baseball. He is always throwing the football with the boys and teaching them how to play baseball and Hoop. I love to watch him too.

Kevin loves to be outdoors camping, hiking, shooting and four-wheeling. His favorite thing to do is hunt (anything). He is always lucky and draws tags. He was given a trip to Missouri to hunt White Tail Deer. He got two does, they didn't see a legal Buck. He had a great time even though it was really COLD. Kevin LOVES hunting with his brothers, Dad and Kaden. He has a nice Gun collection and is very particular about keeping them all clean and put safely way.

Kevin is a very Loyal Husband, Dad, Friend and brother. He always takes care of all of us. Kevin loves to have his siblings over for dinner and just hang out. He loves all his brothers and sisters and misses Doc. Kevin loves and respects his and my parents and is very appreciative of all they do for us. He has a strong testimony but is very shy about sharing it. He hates the thought of talking in church.

Kevin is a great Firefighter and is very respected on the fire dept. All the guys love him and his work ethic. Kevin is a very hard worker and is always busy doing something. He keeps the whole neighborhood clean and is always doing somebody's yard-work. Kevin is very particular about the house and thinks our kids and I don't keep it clean enough. He likes everything just right and will not rest until it is.

I am very grateful for the experiences we have had this last year. We have met some wonderful people and have grown much closer together and to the Lord. I am thankful for modern medicine and the love and support of Family. I LOVE Kevin very much and feel very blessed to have him in my life. My Favorite place to be is next to him. Have a wonderful Birthday Babe. Here's to many more Birthdays!!!!! Love you Cynth

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Happy Birthday, Kevin! We love you and pray that you have many, many more birthdays. I had gone to the doctor right after Christmas when I was expecting Kevin and the doctor seemed surprised that I wasn't already in labor. Dad and I (and I believe Marv and Brenda) walked around downtown Las Vegas on New Year's Eve - I guess we were thinking that since I was so close to having the baby we might as well have a New Year's baby. Of course, Kevin didn't arrive until the 2nd of January. Kevin has always been very athletic - like rolling off the couch when he was 2 weeks old. I wondered, though, if he might have had help from Julie (Brad was only 13 months old and just starting to walk). But, I was watching when he almost did it again - he would raise one leg up and as it came down, he would roll. Needless to say, I couldn't leave him on the couch. We are very proud of Kevin and his family. Cindy Leavitt stopped by on Christmas Eve to bring something to Debbie and she went on and on about how much Mike and the others were going to miss Kevin at Station 10. Mike had told her that Kevin worked harder that anyone at the station. Kevin is a hard worker and is always busy and getting things done. We love going camping with Kevin and his family on Beaver Mountain. Kevin has always been very generous and willing to help everyone. Kevin, we hope you have a great day and a Happy New Year.

Kevin has always been athletic. Mom said he even rolled off the couch at two weeks old. He loves being a firefighter and really loves the free time it gives him to go hunting. He has a tender spot for all little kids and really loves his family. He enjoys entertaining and hosting parties at their home. He is generous to a lot of people around him. We are very grateful for miracles! And that he is such a strong person. We love you Kev.

Kevin has got to be one of the most generous people I've ever met! I know he would give you the shirt off his back and then probably offer his pants too! Kevin has always been good at whatever he does. When I was in High School, the coaches STILL talked about Fresh and how amazing he was in sports. I also know Kevin is a hard worker. When Shane and I were first married, he was hanging windows with Kev. Shane would come home from work each day amazed at how "freakishly strong" and fast Kevin was. I also saw Cindy last week and she said Mike was sad to see Kevin leave their station because he was one of the hardest workers they had. I hope this isn't creepy for a sister to say, but I think Kevin is a tall, handsome hunk! I'm so grateful to have him as a brother and that he is doing well. We still pray for him everyday and also thank Heavenly Father for his healing hand. Happy Happy Kode! We love you!

Kevin has a great sense of humor, is a hard worker and a great family man. He is definitely a perfectionist. I remember him carefully measuring ingredients to make brownies or going all out making omelets with all the fixins including three different cheeses. He always liked his hair just so and usually got us kids to wash his truck that he always wanted nice and shiny. He was even nice to let me drive it to school once in a while. I'll always remember when I asked him to put on my stretchy, sequin Pirate Motion costume in order to stretch it out a little for me. He wore it while he was primping in the mirror and wore it around the house until I thought it was stretched out enough. He always had fun helping us with our silly home videos and looked great as Mr. Clean. Kevin, I am so happy you are doing well. It was great to be able to fly back for Christmas last year and see you after you had your surgery. We love you and miss you much. Happy Birthday!

Kode is such a sweet, generous, thoughtful person. He is definitely a perfectionist in everything he does. He takes the time to do everything well and he is so talented, handsome and athletic. We love when he invites us over for dinner. He gives me a hard time because I never have everyone over to my house. I guess if I had some way to entertain the kids, I just might someday (hee hee). Kevin is so sweet to let us all use his property on Beaver Mountain to go camping and enjoy the great outdoors. Once you get past the tough-guy facade Kevin is just a big teddy bear with a very sweet spirit. I know that prayer and faith have been very instrumental since the diagnosis of Kevin's brain cancer last year. I'm so grateful that the Lord has watched over and blessed him. I love you, Kevin!!
