One Month Old!

 Bryce weighed 5lbs. 2oz.

 Charlie weighed 4lbs.
They hate the flash, so I couldn't get them to look up at the camera for anything.

Chandler's 8th Birthday!

Chandler wanted to do science experiments for his birthday party.
Here are the bouncy balls we made.

We sucked eggs into a bottle using matches.

The diet Coke and Mentos explosion.

We put dry ice into balloons, tied them and let then inflate themselves.  Then put dry ice into a bottle and made balloon rockets, and a few balloon pops.

And... The eyeball cake.  Anyone who knows Chandler knows the kid likes eyeballs.  He came up with this cake idea.

Happy Birthday Chandler!

Utah Summer Games 2013

Rylan hit 3 for 4 in the gold medal game,
including a double that landed right in front of the fence.
His team won the gold medal,
beating the Nevada Wildcats 10-7.
The 9u Las Vegas Bomb Squad
This was Bomb Squad's last tournament in the 9u division.
Rylan finished the year with a .516 batting average,
the second highest on his team.
Good Job Ry-Guy!

Update on Bryce and Charlie

Bryce got to start wearing clothes and get bundled a few days ago.  This preemie outfit won't fit for long!  He weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz. last night (June 20th).  At last measure he was 17 inches long.  But, I think he grown since then.  His cannula is clear since he is no longer on pressurized air.  He is on the minimum amount of oxygen and will probably lose the cannula altogether any day now.  Since he is big enough to be bundled, he gets to have his isolette opened part of the time.  If he is able to stay warm on his own for a few more days, he will get to move to a little crib.

Charlie has a little reputation with his nurses... He is feisty.  He is always moving around and pulling on some tube or wire.  The other day I was holding Bryce and Charlie started screaming.  His nurse came to check him and he had pulled his cannula clear down into his mouth.  Last night he weighed 1630 grams or 3 lbs. 9 oz.  When he gets up to 1800 grams, he can start to wear clothes and be bundled.  He still has his CPAP machine that gives him pressurized air.  But, he is down on his amount and pressure level from a few days ago and is still breathing well.  If he keeps it up he will be changing over to the kind Bryce has soon.

Little Surgeons

We decided not to ask anyone to watch the kids on Father's Day.  So we brought them with us to the hospital- to wait in the waiting room.  When we got there we were all surprised that they were letting siblings in.  So Meg, Chandler and Rylan got to get all geared up and go meet their brothers.

Jared was in Parowan when the rest of the kids went so, he got to meet them a few days later.

Meg's Princess Party

Meg decided she wanted a princess party this year.  She invited her girl cousins that are her age, and her little neighbor friend.

She wanted a princess dress cake.  I had zero time to work on it with everything else going on.  I hated how it turned out but, luckily she's 3 and didn't care!

Meg had lots of fun at her princess party.  But, next year, she says she would like to have a Ninja party instead... hmmm?

Congratulations Melissa & Wayne!

Charlie Gibson Evans & Bryce Reber Evans
were born Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9:14 am via C-section.
Charlie weighed 3 lbs 2 oz and Bryce 3 lbs 13 oz.
The twins were born 10 weeks early and their lungs were not
quite developed, so they needed help breathing.
Look at that sweet little face!
Charlie & Bryce will most likely be in the NICU at
Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas for a couple of months.

May 31, 2013: The boys were stable enough that they moved them together in their own little section.  They are both eating momma's milk through a feeding tube.  They are both in the tanning beds for a little bit of jaundice.  Melissa has been able to get her hands on them changing diapers and stuff.  Our nurse said they were some of the most stable babies in the NICU.  Seems to be going well.  ~Wayne

June 2
Bryce got his blanket from home on his bed today.
June 2, 2013: Charlie needs another day under the light for his jaundice.  They both had to get IV's this morning to give them some sodium bicarb and saline because their ph was off.  Bryce's feedings keep going up because he is tolerating them well.  Charlie is tolerating well but has to wait a couple more days to increase at all since his birth weight was lower.  Overall everything is still good.  Melissa went home from the hospital today!

Charlie's hand wrapped around daddy's finger.

Bryce's cute little tiny feet.
