How are things going for you, I loved the quilt you made and put on the Blog. And I did get an Evans Newsletter from your mom about a week ago. I have wondered how the trip to LA went for Kevin? I haven't heard anything.

Last week Steve and Deb took their trailer up on Cedar Mountain at Duck Creek. This was monday after their Chamberlain Renunion on Beaver Monntian, Steve said she (Deb) had to get camping out of her system. He would come back every morning to check on water. Friday just before noon I went back up with him, Janice came up and brought Rebecca's 3 oldest kids, it was realy nice up there and there were a lot of campers, thats why Deb left early monday morning to get a good spot.

So that was my 4th of July outing, it was cool and those kids had a ball chasing out in the forest, Janice brought me back that afternoon, then went on home. Steve and Deb pulled the trailer back home Saturday so they would be here for Sunday, then he and Crea started cutting their second crop of Hay on Monday.

It really hasn't gotten to hot here yet, I think it got to 90 degrees yesterday. Has Chuck found work yet? Hope so. It sounds as if more of the family are gone right now beside your Mom and Dad.

I started out early this morning to spray wild morning glory with Roundup, but my jassie was slow and needed recharging.

Well I will close and do some Indexing or searching genealogy records.

Update on Kevin

I just got off the phone with Kevin - he's on his way up to Beaver Mountain to go camping with Kaden & Kobe.  He gave me some updated medical information and told me that I could post it to the blog.  

Kevin will be going back in for surgery next Monday, July 13th at Spring Valley Hospital (not sure of the time yet).  He will most likely be in the hospital for approximately three days.  They will be going in to remove the metal plate from Kevin's head because he has been fighting a constant infection that will not clear up.  In addition, they will be cleaning & irrigating the area in an attempt to clear up the infection and the doctor will also be draining the cavity where the brain tumor was removed.

Message from Kyle

Debbie & Randy received the following letter in the mail from Kyle:

Hey family!  I’m up here in Dayton, NV for my two-week mini-mission.  I’m serving with Elders Beatty and Blakemore.  They are both pretty short.  I tower over them by about 6 inches.  They are both nice and ecstatic young men.  I know I’ll love it here because I was actually a little cold last night.  It’s pretty here, way different than the long desert bus ride to Reno.  There’s not a ton going on here, but it’s much better than it was a few months ago...dead.  They have a baptism on the 25th after I leave and a couple more people praying about a baptism date.   I know this will be fun and will be a good learning experience for me.  I can’t wait to go on my actual mission in a couple of months.  I love and miss you all.

Fun-Filled 4th of July!

Vicki and I started our day by canning tomatoes at mom & dad's (they were already gone to visit Suzy & family in Montana).

Brad & Candi invited us, Vicki's family and Deb's family to go swimming with them in the afternoon at Darrell's house.

We all went to Brad & Candi's house after swimming for some delicious food... chicken & ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, and patriotic cupcakes. Yummy!!

In the evening we went up to the ball fields by the fairgrounds to watch fireworks.

Happy 16th Birthday Cameron!

What can we say about Cameron?  He loves sports, cars and girls, but not in that order!  I wanted to throw him a 16th birthday party on Thursday which is his actual birthday. But no---he had other plans. He couldn't wait to go on his first date.  He and his best friend Tanner Long are double dating and taking their dates bowling and out to dinner.  Cam feels like he has been waiting forever to finally turn 16.

Cameron is the Teacher's Quorum president in our ward and does a great job.  He has even made a huge impact on kids and teachers at school.  He wrote an 8 page paper on Mormonism in his world literature class and really peaked the teacher's interest.  She mentioned the paper to another teacher who happens to be a friend of mine.  She said she couldn't believe how a kid at this age could have such a conviction that a religion is true, and that she had watched Cameron as he passed by in the halls and was impressed at how he wasn't afraid to let others know what his standards are.  She had a lot of questions about our church for my friend.  Seems like he is already practicing being a missionary.  Cameron is currently working out with the football team from 7-9 in the morning.  He is very excited to be leaving for Montana next Monday and visiting Suzy's family.  I know he and Andre are going to have a great time.  Cameron has a very rigorous school schedule planned for his junior year.  He is even taking a college AP Spanish class.  He's going to be very busy.  Currently, he says he wants to be an orthodontist when he grows up.  

Cameron was able to attend EFY at BYU right after school ended and had a blast.  He is a very appreciative young man and we thoroughly enjoy having him in our home.  He is sensitive, loving, easy going, and keeps us all laughing with his funny antics.  We are grateful to have him in our family.  Happy 16th Birthday!!!
